Buddy Walk Drive-Thru parade takes place Saturday

A 20 year tradition with a wonderful cause continues this Saturday in Gulfport to raise awareness for those with Down syndrome.

- the gulf coast down syndrome- society will host their 20th- annual- buddy walk, but with a differen- approach.

- due to covid-19, the buddy walk- will actually be a drive thru - car - parade.

- the society raised funds for th- walk by creating yard - signs that everyone will be abl- to see during the - parade route.

- this is a wonderful event to- bring everyone- together and show appreciation- for our loved ones- in the community.

So, with this- organization, and it falls unde- the national down syndrome- - - - society, this buddy walk does.- so, the parents that started it- 20 years ago, felt like - it was very important and its - just something that has grown - and grown."

- - - - the buddy walk will take place- this saturday at the gulfport - sportsplex from 10 am to noon.- the individual in the buddy car- will be presented with- their 20th annual buddy walk- medal and a buddy walk- goody bag.- a photographer will take photos- of the individual receiving - their -
