Lyssa high checks out "Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy" at Hourglass Aesthetics and Salon!

C1 3 speaker 1: today on ask the expert i'm here at hourglass aesthetics and salon, and i am here with ms. jordan bush.

She is a nurse practitioner taking care of me today.

Jordan, thank you so much.

Jordan bush: thank you.

Speaker 1: let's talk about, first of all, today, what i'm here for is bioidentical hormone therapy.

Let's explain, first of all, what exactly that is.

Jordan bush: so we typically take your blood.

We see where you are as far as hormone levels because as we age, obviously our hormone levels decrease.

Speaker 1: yes.

Jordan bush: and so we use bioidentical hormone pellets versus any sort of synthetic hormone replacement.

And it's just to help with all the symptoms that we may have as we age that are hormone-related.

Speaker 1: okay.

And let's talk about the symptoms because that's what caught my ear.

Let's talk about what symptoms are typical when people's hormones are out of whack.

Jordan bush: so typical symptoms that we see, fatigue is a big one, irritability, not sleeping well at night.

Women can get the hot flashes, sweating.

Even the muscle aches and joint pains that we get as we age.

Speaker 1: absolutely.

And i have a lot of those symptoms right now.

And also you had mentioned about the pellets.

Why don't you all prefer using the pellets versus a cream or anything else that's used?

Jordan bush: right.

So the pellets are injected subcutaneously into your fat in your backside.

And we like to use those because they stay in for about three and a half to four months for females and it gets your levels to where they're supposed to be and they stay there the entire time versus injectables.

You get your levels, they go up as soon as you get your injection and then four to five days later, you're- speaker 1: it goes back down.

Jordan bush: it goes back down.

Yes.

And then same with topicals.

You use them once a day, should be used twice a day sometimes, lasts about eight hours.

You put it on your levels go up, eight hours later, your levels go down.

Speaker 1: right.

Jordan bush: you put it on, they go up.

Speaker 1: so this stays more consistent in my system.

Is that right?

Jordan bush: exactly.

So you don't have the ups and downs that you can get with hormone replacement therapy.

Speaker 1: gotcha.

Gotcha.

Well, thank you so much for
