Northeast Indiana health officials give recommendations for COVID free Halloween

With COVID numbers growing after Labor Day and the state entering stage 5, health officials have their eyes on Halloween.

If you are planning to trick or treat...the allen county health department is recommending that you wear a mask, limit the number of houses you go to.and sanitize your hands.if you are giving candy out, do it from your driveway maintaining 6 feet of distance between you and whoever walks or drives up.if you'd like to take it a step further..

Some people are doing halloween candy chutes.

The candy is dropped through a pvc pipe to avoid contact.> 00:00:48-00:01:01"i think that it's reasonable to have someone put their bag over the end of the chute and slide it in the bag potentially something along those lines."

Gaff says if you have a bowl for the candy at the end of the chute - it would defeat the purpose because various hands would go into the bowl.
