A lot of high profile races.

But it's not just political races on the ballott in kentucky.

Abc 36's cody adams has more on what you need to know when you're voting.

L3 cody: white l3: election 2020 white constitutional amendments on the ballot we all know the big races here in kentucky.

Mcconnell against mcgrath... barr and hicks... and of course the race for the president of the united states.

That's all on the ballott.

But also on the ballott that some may not be so aware of are 2 constitutional ammendments.

Let's talk about the first one you'll see.

This isn't the first time marcy's law has been on the ballott, in fact in 2018 more than 868 thousand kentucky voters approved the amendment but it was thrown out by the state supreme court saying the wording was too vague.

It's back on the ballot with some different wording.

If passed, it would provide crime victims with specific constitutional rights... like the right to be present at trials and notified about the release of the accused.

Among several other things as well.

Supporters of the amendment are hopeful the changed wording will clear the path for it's way to the constitution.

Critics of the amendment say the wording is still confusing and it could have unintended consequences , which will hurt victims and defendants alike.

The other amendment you can vote on is seeing the ballott for the first time.

A yes vote would change term limits for some elected kentucky officials.

For example, if passed, district court judges would have their term doubled to eight years starting in 2022.

Commonwealth's attorneys would have term limits increase from six years to eight years starting in 2030.

The amendment would also raise experience requirements for district court candidates.

We have put several links on our website that further looks into these two amendments.
