This comes after a man reportedly holding a knife threatened people at the petco around 7:30 wednesday night.
And after police arrived... two chico police officers fired shots - killing the man.
The butte county officer task force...consists of the district attorney's office, oroville police and c-h-p.
D-a mike ramsey tells action news now the incident spans three different areas... martin luther king junior park, the east 20th intersection and the petco.
"the process is to find the various witnesses that were involved.
Starting at martin luther king jr park.
Then at petco some employees were attacked here.
Then it's a matter of getting those witnesses."
Action news now spoke to some witnesses who tell us the man killed in the shooting was damaging cars nearby.
Action news now also asked ramsey how long this investigation could take and he told us they do not know.
