Monroe County EPA starts signing up internet customers Friday

Another electric power association is on the verge of providing broadband internet to more people locally who have been without it.

And another electric power association is getting ready to sign up its first customers for its new service.

I'm outside of monroe county electric power association where folks from three areas can sign up for internet service starting tomorrow.

Sot: "we can't wait to hook up our first customer.

We just ask people to be patient."

General manger barry rowland said the three locations are bigbee, higway 371, and highway 45 in the central grove area.

He expects the first customer to start using the service in four to six weeks.

And it comes in part thanks to government coronavirus money aimed at making broadband internet in rural mississippi a reality this year.

Stand up: when residents arrive friday, they will have to sign this service application.

Vo: rowland said the applications will let them know how many people are interested.

He added the service should be helpful, especially during the pandemic.

Sot: "a lot of kid are working, doing school work from home and even people are working from home so i think it will be great for all of our communities."
