Says 3 local labs have detected the drug carfeanin pats 10,000 times more potent fentanyl.
Now the county is issuing a drug threat advisory.
News channel 2's brent kearney spoke with law enforcement and health officials about their concerns with this deadly drug.
Some drug dealers are now lacing their cocaine and heroin with carfentinil a white powdery substance, 10,000 times more potent than fentynl, and oneida county director of public health phllyis ellis says its impossible for drug users to detect.

It'sext doesn't normally respond well like other opiate drugs to thenc may be taking center stage, but the opioid epidemic has not gone away.
The county is reporting 8 overdoses within the county this week.
None of which were fatal.
Whether those overdoses were related to carfentanil is under investigation.
Experts saying its a sign drug addiction is still a problem in this area, "their are many pathways to recovery starting with treatment, stabilization, detoxification outpatient treatment, in patient, treatment, long term residential."
Their is a problem, i know all the agencies are doing their best to help the problem.....addiction is a disease."
Oneida county sheriff rob maciol who's office is apart of the county's overdose response team.
He says he's seen carfeniil appear in other communities.
He says inter agency communication is critical in catching the people bringining these drugs in.
And says the penalties are severe for those caught bringing th in.
"i sure the district attorney could give you an earfull of what he would be able to do to thepeoplf into our community.
Its a very dangerous substance.
That's why our connections wi lol law enforcement, state law enforcement, federal dea, cooperatives that we have going.
That's why its critical for dealing with things like this."
County officials say only time will tell how much carfentinil is actually in the area.
