Jo's Café is working to open a restaurant after years of success operating a food truck.

Tupelo is seeing an increase in the number of new places to eat.

Wtva's chelsea brown spoke with one owner about why they decided to open a restaurant during the coronavirus pandemic.

Today owners of jo's cafe food truck are working to open a reasturant.

It was 3 years ago today jo's cafe had it's soft opening of its food truck.

I spoke with the owners and they say the coronavirus has actually helped thier business..

"started setting up more because we were getting request day and night."

Jennifer brignac is one of the owners of jo's cafe.

She says since their business is a to go style place business has went up despite the pandemic.

Owners first started thinking about a change 4 months ago.

"we were growing steadily and we had to do something, it was either expand the food truck or a brick and mortar."

Jo's cafe food truck opened up 3 years.

Johnny cook- owner "it's all due to my aunt her jo moore, she taught me a long time ago my culinary things..

Their new location is on west jefferson street at the former site of homer's steak house..

Brignac says during the remodeling of the reasturant johnny cook has made sure they have the needed supplies.

"johnny stayed really ahead of things when covid was really rapid."

The owners plan to have a soft opening of their new reastruant in november.

The reasturant capacity will be between 100-115 people "we are excited about this new venture..

Many new reasturants are coming to tupelo, some are even open.

New reasturants include many different types of food from mexican food to pizza to steakhouses.
