- and that's what they call full- circle... as the lady bulldogs- won their fourth consecutive- state - championship, on saturday...- with a 3-nothing sweep, over- pontotoc... - in the 4-a title match.
- vancleave got the job done by - taking those sets, 25-12... 25-- 11... and 25-16... which means- this year's group of seniors...- never - ended a season... with a loss.- the first two crowns came under- the watch of haley- chatham... and the lady bulldog- kept the train- rolling... with a coach that's- all too familiar, with how hard- it- is... to do what they just did.- - "i grew up playing sports.
I- played- multiple sports.
I have three - brothers who played sports.
I'm- married.
My husband - - he played sports - and none of- us have ever won any kind of- state title.
And my husband - and i joke about it all the - time, they're probably numb to- it at this point.
But it's- extremely rare to win a state - championship and so, for these- - - - girls to win four in their- career is truly exceptional.
I- mean it's remarkable.
But these- girls, i've never - - - - met a group of kids who are mor- driven and more competitive."
