Tipmont remc got the money from the next level broadband communications program.
It will give broadband internet service to more than 2-thousand homes and businesses.
Those include clinton, fountain, tippecanoe, montgomery and white counties.
Communications director rob ford says the problem became bigger when the pandemic hit.
People needing to work and go to school from home didn't have what they needed.
"we are actively solving that problem.that digital divide that exists today and we're very excited to have the opportunity to do so.
The first installation will be finished in february 2021.
The last will wrap up in september.
