Find out about another nex c1 so of course halloween is just about upon us and many people are finding different ways to do trick or treats because of the covid-19 pandemic and many areas are doing trunk or treats.
One that's doing that is wyatt park baptist church.
I welcome matthew paiden for here instructions on how we get through this with your church.
How are you doing matthew?
>> great.
Thank you for having us.
We appreciate the time to share what we're doing.
Of course.
>> so let's talk about first of all, when your trunk or treat is.
>> it's october 31st from 2 to 4:00 p.m.
We decided to do something like this because we wanted to give back to our community and really wanted to find a way to help provide a safe opportunity for kiddos to get dressed up and go trick or treating and we thought as many parking lots as we had, we would be able to park people and social distance to enjoy the day.
You talked about what's going on with being safe for this trunk or treat.
Tell me about all the measure taking.
We limited our trunks to 18 to get kids lined up and come safely to each trunk.
Another quirky thing instead of dressing up in halloween and scary costumes, we are encouraging our congregation to be biblically themed for their trunk and biblically themed the way they dress up, which i think is kind of cute.
That way kiddos can come and be safe.
We are also taking great measures on how we are handing out candy.
I know that's a big concern this year.
So we have already taken several pieces of candy and put them in zip locked bags and encouraged each person participating to put a table in front of their trunk so they can space those out so kiddos can grab their baggy and be able to move to the next car which i think, what a great idea in our current climate.
>> sure is.
Now, the amount of candy that you're going to be giving away isn't cheap, how did you come up with the funds?
>> you know, number one our church has been blessed during this pandemic which is fantastic.
I believe god found great ways to provide.
I had a church member pull me aside and said make sure you don't run out of candy.
We're going to be open until 4:00 or until we run out of candy.
