MHSAA reveals 2021-23 reclassifications

Several local schools will play in different classifications for the 2021-2023 school years.

The mississippi high school activities association announced reclassification for teams across the state.

A few teams in our neck of the woods are on the move.

In 1a, the nanih waiya warriors are moving up to 2a starting next season.

The warriors join a division with kemper county, philadelphia, newton and lake.

Myrtle and baldwyn also moved up to 2a.

They'll join belmont, which moves down from 3a, east union, walnut and potts camp in 1-2a.

Choctaw county is moving down to 2a.

They'll join an already stacked district with east webster, calhoun city, eupora, and bruce.

Last big move is for the hilltoppers of houston, they are now in 4a.

They'll be in a division with new albany, all three pontotocs, and ripley.
