Saifullah, commander of terror group Hizbul Mujahideen, was killed on November 1 in a 'very successful' operation, as per Jammu and Kashmir police.
J&K police chief Dilbag Singh said that people who had lost family members due to the terrorist would breathe a sigh of relief.
The encounter took place in the Rangreth area and a terrorist was also caught alive.
It was a joint operation by J&K police, Army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Singh said that Saifullah joined terror ranks around 7 years ago.
He had completed a bio-medical course from ITI in J&K's Pulwama and had worked as a technician at Srinagar's NIEIT.
He was recruited by Reyaz Naikoo who was killed in May this year.
