And i'm megan reyna.
Here at home -- dozens gathered at big spring park in huntsville this afternoon for a rally in support of president donald trump.
And while the event was peaceful some left the area in handcuffs -- waay 31's max cohan joins us live in downtown huntsville to explain, max?
Just two days before the election this gathering was called a celebration before whats sure to be a few stressful days ..
And while things were seemingly calm in the park a small protest at the courthouse ended with four arrests.... nat sound "i'd like to thank all you patriots for being out here today."
Flags and banners in support of president trump could be seen all around big spring park sunday at a rally supporting him and the republican party.
Less than 48 hours before people can head to the polls -- some in the crowd said they feel the election is going to be close -- but still believe that alabama will remain a red state... austin lee - trump supporter "i think people only are voting for biden because of their hatred for trump and i feel like people are voting for trump because of their love for trump, and i think love with trump hate, no pun intended."
While the rally was happening in the park, a small gathering of protests gathered just up the hill outside city hall.
The group -- underground protest -- said it originally planned to host its own event -- which they say was not going to be anti trump or a protest-- but when their permit was denied by the city they decided to protests on the sidewalk outside city hall.... at the rally, people like lee said he fully supported the protesters rights... "that's there right to protest if they want to, i hope it stays peaceful but i fully support their right to do that if they disagree with us, they're completely in their right to protest."
At some point -- huntsville police blocked the stairs connecting the sidewalk on fountain circle and the park.
According to a member of the underground protest -- three people were arrested when they tried to ask police why they were now unable to walk down to the rally.... "they weren't doing anything but simply asking questions ... they got arrested for doing what was right, what they're allowed to do, what it says in law they can do."
Huntsville police did confirm to me earlier that a total of four protesters were arrested for disorderly conduct this afternoon -- but did not provide any information about what led to the arrests.
