Pg&e's progress on moving all the power lines underground in the town of paradise.
### pkg (nats pg&e working on underground powerlines) katie simmons/disaster recovery director: pg&e is undergrounding approximately 200 miles over the next several years and we have seen 50 of those miles complete to date.
Kristian: this is just one of the neighborhoods where pg&e has already finished installing the underground powerlines i spoke with one camp fire survivor who lives on this street who says this makes her feel a lot safer.
Cynthia onstein/camp fire survivor: it is comforting to know the power is underground and a line wont blow over in a storm or with the wind.
Katie simmons/disaster recovery director: we know during the evacuation process these poles came down creating public safety concerns and undergrounding them will make them safer to evacuate town in case that happens again.
The project is estimated for 5 years, we are about a year in and we've seen a quarter complete.
Cynthia onstein/camp fire survivor: i still cant believe its been two years it was a very devastated fire and its just very courageous there are a lot of strong people and im proud of being here.
Kristian: town officials say there are events planned for the two year anniversary but most will be virtual because of the pandemic.
