General election rules allow absentee ballots postmarked by election day to be counted as long as they are received within the next three days.

Cameron has not challenged kentucky's rules.

Days later... people across the world are still reacting to president-elect joe biden's projected victory.

Abc 36's christy bollinger talked to u-k students about the election results... and their hopes for the next four years.

### girl student"hope that we ca all come together and move past it."

Moving past the election..

That's what uk students i talked to want.

But they're not quite there yet... girl student"personally i thin the election was rigged with a lot of voter fraud."

Boy student"i think it wa weird just knowing it was going to take more than just tuesday to know the results."

The results came on saturday... when the associated press and others called the race for joe biden.

Now, students are trying to look ahead, though sophomore alex fleener thinks lawsuits will make that difficult.

Boy student"i think if w manage to make it to the end without nothing too bad happening.

If we make it through this middle point to where no matter who wins the other side concedes and kind of goes okay that's enough."

Student hannah gross hopes some of donald trump's work isn't reversed.

Girl student"i think he did lot of good things for this country so i hope doesn't undo all the things the good things he did."

Gross also hopes for equality for all...something some think president trump worked against.

"even at uk i do see a lot o division between communities and i just hope we can all come together and just live in peace at college and for the country."

Fleener hopes to see more bi-partisan work.

"i know mcconnell and bide probably have some history to work off of.

I hope they can come together and are willing to work to make america better than it was ever."

He says if that doesn't happen..

He could see it being an unproductive four years.

"where nothing gets passed a all.

And the senate and the house and the presidency just continuously fight each other."

These students hope for a brighter future... one that starts today.
