Central Noble, Southwest Allen County superintendents explain switch to temporary eLearning

Both superintendents for Central Noble schools and Southwest Allen County explained why they have to move to E-Learning temporarily.

Right now-- two school districts are making adjustments to switch over to virtual learning starting today.central noble and southwest allen county school superintendents say the change isn't about covid cases in schools...but teacher staffing problems.fox 55's jentill neal reports what this means for the upcoming days.

Southwest allen county school district and central noble school corporation are facing the same challenge ... unable to fill teaching positions because of quarantine.>01:48:53-01:49:13 "we don't have enough subs to cover for that."s-a-c-s superintendent dr. phil downs says they've been combining classrooms to make it work, but now they're at a point where they don't have enough substitute teachers.there were 23 classrooms without coverage.

One sick person can quarantine a lot of people.

What's happening here is we don't really have a covid break out.

We haven't had one yet, but we have a large number of people who either outside of school or inside of school have been exposed."they're going all-virtual for the next two weeks.

Something similar regarding the availability of substitutes... central noble schools will be shifting to e- learning starting today and will return on monday.

Superintendent troy gaff says if there's a need for an extension there will be one.

But as of right now they're monitoring how many teachers who can return.
