Athletes starting to play again In Chio

Action News Now spoke to two seniors about what this year of sports means to them.

Chico sports teams are practicing again.

Action news now reporter 'amy lanski' spoke to some senior athletes about what it means to them.

I spoke to a senior volleyball player and a senior football player here at chico high who say they couldn't be any happier to be back..

Regardless of their new rules.

All of the sports that are back are working doing conditioing and work that they can stay six feet a part.

The athletic director for chico high says they all also have kids wearing masks at all times... have hand sanitizer easily accesible... and are sanitizing everything after practices.

Both the seniors said even with how different this year is.... they are excited to be with their teammates.

"football is a way of life and it is really a high school experience that nobody will ever expereince.

I know a ton of kids now that are gone now and they are forgotten but i will always remember them and i just want to be someone that will be remembered here at chico high."

"i am happy to be back, it is a little bit of a bummer we can't do everything normal, but i love to just be with the girls."

Both athletes say their coaches do a good job at enforcing the rules and they feel safe the athletic director for chico high says he doesn't know yet what it would mean for students if butte county went back to the red tier.
