Escapee back in police custody following extensive, multi-county search

Cool weather continue into the weekend.highsn the town of aurelius, in cayuga county.

A search began thursday afternoon.... when the department of corrections officers were searching for him in deerield.

Witt escapedfrt facility, in seneca county.

The search was happening just down the hill from w-k-t-v.

This is off walker road in deerfield.

Deerfield residents reached out to newschannel two on thursday saying that he may have family that lives here.

Though, we still have not been able to confirm that with authorities.

State police, on monday, alerted media that kevin witt escaped from the willard drug treatment campus.... and mave have been heading towards ithaca.

But again.... escaped parolee kevin witt is back in custody this morning.
