Who is live in marshall county where students are waking up to an online start this morning.

Sierra.

Students will be learnig online from now until january 5th!

The superintendent said she's been in close contact with the marshall county emegerncy management agency and local health officials.

The decision was announced less than 24 hours ago!

Superintendent doctor cindy wigley said it wasn't an easy call - but believes it will keep the community safe.

Right now - the district has 25 positive cases among students staff and faculty.

More than 300 people are in quarantine--- including the superintendent.

The parent of a marshall county kindergartener told us it's she knows the virtual learning people will be tough.

Abby stinson, parent: "it's killing me because he's missing all the firsts of everything."

Next week all the schools will be deep cleaned.

Teachers will reporting back on november 30th.

If your child tests positive during the clossure - you're still encouraged to reach out to the school nurse so that marshall county can continue to be part of the state's covid tracking system.

Schools will be offering curb side meals for students as well.

Parents should get an email from their school with the details on how that will work.
