MSU will allow 25% capacity at Humphrey Coliseum for the upcoming basketball season.

Humphrey collisuem is usually packed with fans for the womens and mens basketball games.

But even with all the hype behind this basketball season the school says fans will only fill 25 percent of stands at this point this season.

And one student says its for the best.

"it's kinda makes me sad that my experience might be offset."

Natalie waters is a future student of mississippi state.

"i haven't been to a basketball game but i've been to multiple sporting events and pre-covid i loved the experiences i had."

But she says she knows this year's experience will be much different.

"it's something that at this time is necessary it's not the most desirable."

Her mom kacee waters feels limited capacity at big event is a good idea and her natalie agrees.

"i think that it's a good idea and i hear that the school is doing alot to make sure that my experience is as good as it can be."

Kacee says although its not ideal, it's better than nothing.

"i like that the university is allowing things to occur in a safe manner and not simply cancelling events."

The mens team will be the first to experience a limited crowd this season with their season opener scheduled next wednesday.
