Good evening jason.

Tonight's meeting was fairly short... but the board of education did give an update on birnie bus and coronavirus testing requirements.

Superintendent bruce karam spoke about preparing for testing in the district when students go back to school.

He says the district will work with the health department to see how testing would be done and if testing would be conducted on site.

He says right now, there is no program in place with the county... but with the increasing cases, a testing plan is important to start preparing for.

"new york state now if the area gets deemed, gets flagged as a code yellow, which is a certain percentage rate in the area, then any in person or hybrid instruction will require, once we go back to school, would require 20 percent of the population in each building to be tested for covid."

The attorney for the board gave an update on birnie bus.

Last month, the school district said they were postponing their hybrid plans due to a bus driver shortage.

Birnie bus said they were not to blame.

The school district requested birnie bus present a plan for hybrid re- opening for the board to consider.

Right now, the district is evaluating their proposal to see if it is viable.

They will discuss the plans at their december meeting.

Jason back to you.
