Bonita malone: "well we were just four old ladies sitting around the last nine months..."

Carmen hironimus: "you are old lady i'm not."

Bonita malone and carmen hironimus are two of the four women who came up with the idea to do a fundraiser for bear fire victims without insurance.

Bonita: "we needed to just do something so we thought what do we do?

Well, let's just raise some money that is always a good thing to do."

Carmen: "then we realized there are a lot of bear fire victims that don't have insurance."

Judith elia "so we asked brian wang knowing he opened this great patio restaurant and he said i am all in i am all in."

Judith elia also helped with the fundraiser and says union bar and grill only charged the women for the food which was about 8 dollars..

And let them give the rest of their profits to survivors.

Elia says within weeks they sold all 100 of their tickets, but that's not all of the help they got.

Judith: "people have been sending us checks.

And the center for spiritual living is supporting us and doing our accounts."

The last woman patricia wickes lost everything in the camp fire so says this event was meaningful to her.

"you don't know what it feels like until it happens to you, you are in shock, and not only are you in shock you try to be strong for other people and people say how are you doing you say i am fine, but you really aren't fine because your world has been demolished and i know how that felt."

Wickes says she had insurance after the fire, but knew plenty of people who didn't and wants to help them.

One couple who was enjoying a meal says it was a cheap and fulfilling way to help.

Heather gray "to be able to just do this, i feel very good to be able to this at least, it is the least we can do for the community."

John gray "everyone has to work together right now, if we don't we are in trouble."

Amy: "organizers say they will be accepting donations until the end of the month.
