Latest on Lake Oroville's Loafer Pt. Boat Ramp construction and safety assessment report

A new report is the most comprehensive safety assessment ever produced by the CA Department of Water Resources (DWR).

2018.### the department of water resources recently published its summary report of a comprehensive needs assessment of safety at oroville dam.

It comes after the reconstruction of the spillway that was damaged and threatened to fail in 2017.

The dwr said that a team of dam safety experts, engineers, consultant and community members determined the oroville dam complex is safe to operate, and no urgent repairs are needed.

But it*doe* name some risk reduction projects.

When finished, there will be six new boat launch lanes and one hundred-eighty trailered spaces... it will help boaters launch when lake levels are low.

Right now the loafer creek recreation area is closed because of fire recoveery work.
