A multi million dollar effort to restore critical salmon habitat along the upper sacramento river will continue... thanks to a new, $10 million dollar grant from the u.s. bureau of.

The work involves chico state enterprises and partners like the sacramento river forum, d.w.r, river partners, and the yurok tribe.

So far, seven restoration projects have successfully been completed, three are in progress, and one is scheduled for next year.

They involve creating side channels for juvenile chinook salmon and steelhead, to help when they're impacted by water flow changes.##
