WAAY 31 Hero Salute: Col. Buddy Brook

Everyday we celebrate our military service members.

Time now for our waay 31 hero salute.

This morning's salute goes to retired u.s. army colonel buddy brook.

Over his 40 year career, colonel brook served in iraq, afghanistan, africa, europe, north and south america.

Since retiring he has taught u.s. and military history at una, served as a substitute teacher and volunteered with the lexington high school football team.

He still travels in the u.s. and abroad as part of a training team for soldiers.

His proud wife sharon tells us he enjoys time with family, especially his grand children walker, liza leigh and abbey.

Fun fact- waay was part of a soldier surprise for his daughter sydney in april 2018.
