41 of 82 counties now under mask mandate, Mississippi governor announced Tuesday

Tate reeves said is is clear that we are in the middle of a second surge of the coronavirus... while he did not issue a statewide make mandate again - he did put 19 more counties under additional coronavirus restrictions - including mask mandates... 41 out of 82 total counties in the state are now under the additional measure... taking a look now at the counties in our area that were added today -- those include alcorn, attala, chickasaw, chocktaw, lafayette , lowndes, neshoba, panola, prentiss, tippah, tishomingo , and union... another week ."

There are 4 of those 22 original counties that technically no longer meet the criteria, i have made the decision that we will leave those 4 on with these additional restrictions for at least another week.... the governor also said what we are experiencing right now - is not like the pandemic was at the height back in august... but hospitalizations are trending upward..

He also gave an update on coronavirus vaccines.... saying the vaccines will likely require two shots that have to be taken three weeks apart... the first round of vaccines could be ready to be distributed by the end of this year... craig -
