Its season on the road at louisville in what the team hopes is a turnaround season.

Andrew garcia has more with the aces.

Pkg trt:1:53" oc:garcia 44 sports ((aces ready for big season)) wednesday will mark the start of the college basketball season, however due to covid-19, hoops in the 2020-21 season will be different.

I'm excited more than anything.

I'm ready to get going.

((evan kuhlman senior f )) this summer was so frustrating not being able to be with the team and do those sorts of things.

I'm more excited ((aces ready for big season)) to get this thing going.

We adjusted really well actually due to covid.

I don't think it really affected our preparation.

We ((shamar givance junior g )) have been cautious and getting ready for the game.i don't think it really affected anything.

The most thing i would say is it just tweaks our chemistry, ((aces ready for big season)) like, we're not able to hang around new guys by being socially distant and stuff.

So that's the only thing covid has really affected.

The ue men's basketball team returns 7 players from last year's unit, and the returning players will play a key role for the new members of the team.

The new guys are very open to ((todd lickliter )) guidance.

So, we've got all the makings of a ((aces ready for big season)) unified group and the qualities of a good team.

Kuhlman- obviously we can set a great example for them doing the right things just it's all about on the court stuff.

It's also about off the court, going to class studying for tests, doing things like that in advance before trips.

When they see that we're focused on coach lickliter eye contact, we're not moving around, we're locked in, we're focused during practice i think that sets a really good example.

The aces would love nothing more than to put last year's 9-23 mark in their rearview, and with coach todd lickliter getting set for his first full season, the team believes they have the pieces to have a successful year.

Kuhlman- just having everything in place right now with coach lickliter at the helm and now we've got a great bunch of assistant coaches along with him.

It's just a little bit more structure going into everything and coach is doing a great job teaching everybody trying to get everybody on that same page going into a game.

So, we're just going to play as a unit.
