And i'm george mallet.

First tonight... as we approach thanksgiving?

"* eve... health officials say we are at a pivotal moment in the coronavirus pandemic.

Kimt news three's anthony monzon is live in rochester with the message health experts have for minnesotans.

Anthony?

Katie... george... health experts have been expressing concern for some time about the impact holiday gatherings could have on the spread of coronavirus... but with thanksgiving just about 26?

"* hours away... we're starting to get a clearer picture of how many people are ultimately deciding to travel this week.

We're learning about one?

"* million people passed through airports each day this weekend... which is less than half the amount who flew last year on those same dates.

While that's a significat drop year?

"*over?

"* year... those numbers represent the busiest days for american airports since the beginning of the pandemic.

One concern experts are sharing is that people will gain a false sense of security if they take a coronavirus test before traveling and get a negative result.

Minnesota medical association president doctor marilyn payt?

"*so says that pln is full of "a test is only a snapshot in time.

You know, there are false negatives, you can be getting ready to be positive, your body could be replicating the virus, and if you were maybe tested the next day, you know, you might be positive, or you know you could have gotten exposed after you got tested."

And payt?

"*so says so people may not realize the seriousness of the threat coronavirus poses in minnesota.

She tells me with the virus spreading rapidly acorss the midwest... we could very easily not have the resources to care for all sick people if safety measures are ignored.

Live in rochester... anthony monzon... kimt news thank you anthony.
