Katie... george... officials say eateries are facing some of the most difficult challenges they've ever encountered in the wake of new coronavirus restrictions.

That's why they're launching this new campaign to encourage minnesotans to order take?

"*out more often from their favorite bars and restaurants.

The department of employment and economic development says restaurants are a key economic driver in minnesota... which is home to over eight?

"* hundred eateries... employing more than 100?

"* thousand people.

Today i spoke with d?

"*e* commissioner steve grove... who tells me his department is seeing a jump in unemployment applications since new restrictions were announced "we've seen thousands more apply this week than last week.

Very much to be expected, this happened last time when we took a pause on some of these industries for safety reasons.

So our system is set up to handle that, but it's clear that at least for the next few weeks, there' going to be more folks who are leaving the industry to get unemployment insurance."

And commissioner grove went on to say supporting restaurants now will help them preserve their ability to re?
