Matt and renee-- i've tried to get answers from the group but they still won't give me any informatuon.
It's unclear if they're just people out here watching or if they're here to protest.
The crowd is not getting much bigger as police continue to investigate this active scene behind me.
Police say they received a call of a suspect violating a restraining order and escaped armed with a knife.
Officers were able to locate a person who fit the description and there was a brief chase.
The suspect ran down an alley behind oakshire brewery where they met a dead end.
They turned around and police say the suspect charged officers with a knife.
That's when police opened fire and hit the suspect twice.
That really helped understand decision making by the officers, trajectory of when shots were fired and how that potentially woulde gone and making sure were able to corroborate no only what the video is showing us but officers statement, witness statements and the technology use and other evidence we gather.
Skinner says they also have multiple video clips from officers body camera's, dash cameras, and security footage from a nearby building.
Matt and renee-- the suspect is currently being treated at a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police did not say what his status is.
Chief skinner says the district attorney's office will complete a more detailed timeline about what happened and that should be released within 14 days.
