For some families this year, giving their children christmas presents will be nearly impossible due to job loss and financial hardships.
Fort wayne's toys for tots is doing their best so that no child is left empty-handed on christmas day.

3 christmas is a time to gather with family and count your blessings... but for many fort wayne residents, it's hard to express gratitude when you're wondering where the money for gifts will come from..donald emert of fort wayne's toys for tots is making sure no child wakes up on christmas day to find that no presents are under the tree.
"last year the program passed out 24000 toys and we helped out 6000 children."
Emert says because, of the pandemic, this year they'll need all the help they can get.
"as you can see we're already a week behind because we've had three volunteers test positive for covid-19.
We've had to quarantine for 14 days to make sure everyone is healthy.
If we have another one, there won't be a program this year."
Rodger norton the general manager of the tube car wash joined forces with the non-profit to make sure that no matter what 3 families are going through, their children still feel loved this holiday season.
"this is just a great way to give back and do something small for those who might be struggling for the holidays."
Manager julie wilkins says she's delighted that her store has gotten over 100 donations 3 so far.
"christmas coming up is a really stressful time on families regardless but with covid this year, i think it's just a special thing to do here at the tube."
