Bluegrass Hospitality Group angel tree 12.2.20

The Bluegrass Hospitality Group is looking to help restaurant workers who are losing income because of coronavirus restrictions.

C1 3 indoor dining is going to make it hard for them to survive...let alone provide a nice holiday for their families.

So malone's owners...the bluegrass hospitality group...had an idea.

Abc 36's alex king explains how the community's response to that idea is far exceeding what the owners expected.

Martha: "it's such a blessing to have such a positive response and so many people wanting to help."

Helping those in need.

A typical holiday tradition for many.

But this year there seems to be more people on the other end of this tradition because of covid-19.

Martha:"it's important for us to help others in need and especially this year has been so hard for so many people.

It was so important for us to give back to the community."

Martha lee mccarty says the indoor dining shutdown is impacting restaurants significantly... so her dad's restaurant group...bluegrass hospitality...wanted to find a way to help restaurant workers... that's when it decided to create an angel tree.

Mccarty posted the information on her social media and got a huge response.

Martha:"we honestly have too many people wanting to help than we need, so that's honestly such a blessing to give more to the children of the employees."

Because of the large response... organizers are hoping other restaurants with employees who need help will reach out.

Martha:"we just don't want anyone to be afraid or honestly embarrassed to reach out for help because there's so many people in this community willing to help."
