WAAY-31's Sophia Borrelli discusses the impact that a cyber attack has had on schools and virtual learning.
New information -- huntsville city school students will be going back to the classroom on monday after the district canceled classes this week due to a cyber attack.
We learned the district is still using minimal technology which means kids will be doing school work the quote "old school way" with pens and paper.
Waay 31's sophia borrelli spoke with a parent about how she thinks her children will be able to transition - without technology.
She joins us live now from the central office in huntsville.
Sophia?
One parent i spoke with said she's not worried about the limited use of technology huntsville city school students will have as they head back to the classroom next week.
Traditional students will be back to face - to-face learning on monday.
They will be doing assignments without their district issued devices because there is still an on-going investigation into the cyber security attack on the district's system.
Virtual students will need to pick up assignment packets to continue their studies.
The parent i spoke with says she thinks it will be an easy transition.
"technology has always been a tool, been an opportunity for them to connect with their classmates, certain assessments are done that way, but even, i think it is just going to be a natural kind of shift back and forth."
Today teachers were back in school buildings preparing for students to come back on monday.
As a reminder - the district is asking students - faculty - and parents to keep district issued devices off and not log into any school platforms. live in huntsville - sophia borrelli waay 31 news.

The investigation into that possible ransomware attack is still on-going.
The district says they are still not able to comment on what - if any - information has been
