A nonprofit organization called TRIP has released a report finding 12% of roads in Utica are in poor condition.
Closer look at the road and bridge conditions in new york state.
The national transportation research nonprofit, or 'trip', held a zoom news conference today.
Trip finds that 12 percent of major roads, in utica, are in poor condition.
28 percent are in mediocre condition.
And 12 percent of bridges are structurally deficient.
--that means they're in immediate need of repair or replacement.
Trip says this is costly to drivers.
"in the utica area, drivers are spending an average 1,264 dollars annually in the cost of driving on rough roads which is beating up their vehicle, in the value of lost time and wasted fuel due to traffic congestion and the economic cost of serious and fatal traffic crashes."
In this latest report, trip did not name the roads and bridges....in need of repair.
