Businesses.
And businesses have until midnight tomorrow to shut their doors or adjust to the changes for the stay at home order.
Action news now reporter esteban reynoso is live in downtown chico.
Esteban you spoke with businesses, how are they reacting to the new shutdown?
Some businesses in chico can't afford to close their doors for the three week stay at home order -- while others are adapting differently for this shutdown.
"i don't know if there's much of a difference other than we've been through it."
Secret trail brewery in chico is allowed to serve beer to-go only during the stay at home order, still, their anticipating to take a hit.
"what does that do to the business?
What does it do to payroll for employees?
How big does it impact you?"
"it's big, it's very big.
It cuts our earnings probably in half, and it probably cuts the profits more than that, so it's gonna be hard."
"we're gonna try to stay these first three weeks without laying anybody off and then we'll take a look if it goes longer than what the governor had said."
"we are thankful that we are still open for beer to go, we're very thankful, so we'll have just have to do the best at that."
But for other businesses who don't have the option to adapt, closing their doors is a matter of losing their entire business.
"you've got local people like us who are hanging on just to stay open, to provide income for our families, now they want to shut us down again.
We're not gonna let that happen.
We're clean, we sterilize everything, we keep it to a limit as far as how many people are in here, but yet it's unsafe?
Nah we don't agree with that."
However, this time around, some people in the community think it's scarier, and that shutting down is the best thing to do.
"i think the first time around with businesses closing i didn't really take it as serious but now that it's coming around a second time, i think things are more serious and it's kind of getting scary."
"i think it's a good idea actually, i don't like it, but i think it's necessary."
"if they want us to stay home and stay safe and not get covid, i think it's a good idea."
I spoke with the city of chico off camera and they tell me they will look to educate the businesses that decide to stay open during the new stay at home order.
