The County Commissioners are weighing the issue as well.

Last week the school districts board of directors passed a resolution asking governor brown to do just that.

Today the jackson county board of commissioners met and agreed to move forward with the letter to the governor.

Bottom line is this --- they understand that students are struggling both as students and kids in general and they feel returning to in-person learning will help with that.

Moving forward, the letter will be sent to the public health departments to make sure that they are on the same page.

It's reiterating the fact that overall the data is showing that schools are not super spreaders.

In fact, they're not effectively, uh, you know, transfers, uh, areas of the virus and that kids are actually safer in school than just about anywhere.

Then the jackson county board of commissioners plans to send the letter sometime in the coming weeks.

This is based on approval from the health departments so nothing has been set in stone just yet.
