Liquor store sales up amid pandemic

While the pandemic has negatively impacted several businesses, there is one type of business that is actually seeing an uptick in sales.

Type of business that has actually been doing better.

Earlier this year, liquor store owners rejoiced when the governor announced that they would be deemed essential businesses, and ever since business has been booming.

Here's news channels 2s caitlin irla.

With less of this... people are buying more of this... liquor store sales have increased since march.

"definitely when the pandemic started, "all liquor store sales have gone up."

.

None .

None cg greg here "i think every liquor store has gone up at least 20 percent, because unfortunately bars and restaurant, the 10 o'clock curfew now."

Just like every other business& liquor stores have had to make changes to the way they do business.

"you know, people that come into a liquor store, it's very quick, "the average person goes in a liquor store for five minutes, and every liquor store, not just ours is offering pick up, sometimes we have 40 pickups in a day, so people call us and say could you just run this out to the car so that works out great."

"and delivery, we're doing deliveries every single day all over the area."

And -- they've had to focus on keeping everything safe, so they don't have to ose down."oun it comes to health and safety, we bought a fogging machine that we fog the store every night, we go through the whole store and then have to leave the fogger at the door and shut the door, and everything get sanitized."

While the uptick in sales is good news for a business that rely's on the sale of adult beverages... the c-d-c reports that americans are drinking more this year than in 2019... and of course that could lead to health consequences.

So -- if you choose to drink..

Do it responsibly and safely.
