Trying to find some common ground with administrators.

I talked with both sides about their concerns as many students are currently in quarantine due to covid-19.

Students at rossville consolidated school district are circulating this petition.

It's asking administrators to consider an e- learning option.

"once you're at home you don't really have a central plan unless the entire school is on virtual with you."-zeke zeke is one of many students who attends rossville middle/senior high school who is currently quarantining due to be exposed to covid-19.

"it's not so much the actual covid it's the contact tracing that's associated with that."- jim hanna superintendent while the district has only had 11 students who have tested positive for covid-19..

Those students have exposed a number of their classmates.

While the school will have two virtual learning days starting this friday and the following monday..

Students say they don't feel like that's longenoue it's not enough.

I think they get these concerns and they are going in to damage control mode sort of skating by the rules as close to the line as possible with out getting in trouble."-zeke.

Superintendent jim hanna says that's not the case.

He says there are several logistical challenges that face a district like rossville when it comes to offering e- learning.

"the bandwidth is definitely an issue and the access to healthy meals and the child care.

Child care is very limited in the rossville community as well as other communities."- jim hanna superintendent zeke says that he and his peers do want to continue to meet for classes in person..

They just feel for the time being it isn't the safest option.

"i can understand it that it would be a lot more pressure on the teachers and going one way or the other is a lot more logisticly possible, but it would be a better choice for the students to give them that option."- zeke.

Rossville schools do not offer an option for virtual learning.

The superintendent says kids are safest at school.

He added any positive cases are from students not practicing proper cdc guidelines.
