The food and drug administration has issued an emergency use authorization for the pfizer vaccine... which will be the first covid-19 vaccine to be distributed in the united states.

This comes after the agency's vaccines and related biological products advisory committee recommended the vaccine.

During the committee vote yesterday... 17 members voted yes... four voted no... and one abstained.

The next step in the process is getting a recommendation from the centers for disease control and prevention.
