While missouri begins its covid-19 roll out plan, mosaic life care is still waiting to hear important details about the vaccine's distribution... one question looms: which vaccine will the state receive?

Here's kq2's kilee thomas with mosaic's plan: <<kilee thomas reporting.

We know the covid-19 vaccine is soon to be on it's way across the country-but here at home than answers surrounding the vaccine.

But- mosaic life care says they're ready for it.sot: dr davin turner, chief medical officer at mosaic life care- "if we receive this vaccine by say the 21st or 22nd of this month, we will start vaccinating before christmas."

Mosaic life care hoping for a christmas miracle in treating covid-19 1 in 3 symptomatic patients testing positive but there's a small hiccup sot: turner- "we do not know which one we will get."

As of friday- mosaic life care doesn't know what covid-19 vaccine they'll receive turner- "we have no idea and i repeat- i have no idea and have not been told how many vaccines we will receive."

"a week ago i would've told you it was pfizer.

This week, it was mentioned the state was going to get a fair amount of moderna and they did mention they plan to use that in the more rural settings.

The interesting thing is, sometimes we fall into the rural setting, sometimes we fall into the metropolitan setting."

So while there are things we don't know...here's what we do know: frontline caregivers will be vaccinated first and dr. turner will be at the front of the line sot: turner- "yes, i will be getting the vaccine along with dr. laney and dr. kammerer.

We believe in the technology and believe the technology is safe.

We will receive the vaccine."

Mosaic hoping to get enough vaccines for their 4,000 employees will not be mandated sot: turner- "i have said this once and i'll say it again- this vaccine will be optional."

But the vaccine is highly encouraged by the hospital.

Dr. turner says after surveying their caregivers and providers-the majority said they will be taking the vaccine.

And most importantly to note- the vaccine isn't a replacement for safety precautions sot: turner- "masks aren't going away for a long time.

Just because the vaccine is going to show up here, i want you to know, we here at mosaic will be in a mask all next year.

I just do not see us not having a mask for the next year at least just because of the timeline it's going to take to get the majority of the population vaccinated."

Mosaic says a new hospital policy requires its caregivers who've tested positive with the virus must wait three months to receive the covid vaccine.
