High Speed Chase Through Rochester With Man in Trunk

A suspect was apprehended after attempting to flee on foot.

*- but it happened right here in rochester.

Xxx george... the employees at chico's autobody shop are no strangers to working with fast cars... but today... one employee... experienced this chase up close... perhaps too close for comfort... how about in the trunk of the car.

"it was kind of fun at first until he started driving crazy."

From welder to crime stopper.

Jason gascoigne says he sprang into action after someone tried to take off with a car before paying for repairs.

"he hopped in the car and gunned it into reverse, and then he slammed it into drive, and all the doors shut, but the trunk stayed open, so i jumped in the trunk and called 911" gascoigne says he was in the trunk for roughly 20 minutes as officers pursued the driver on a high?

"*speed chase through rochester.

"he started driving crazy, and i'm like 'dude, just let me out of the car, just let me out,' because i knew the cops were going to get him at that point, and i'm like 'come on, out of the car.'

And eventually, he ditched the cops a little bit and got in a residential area and he stopped, let me out of the car."

Officers eventually caught up with the vehicle behind a northwest rochester apartment complex... where the driver took off on foot before being apprehended.

"city officers assisted with that as far as trying to locate the driver of the vehicle, and they did so about a block from here.

A and gascoigne offered some advice to anyone who ever finds themselves unwillingly in the trunk of a car.
