It has earned him the nickname: the post-it picasso.

And jason.... watts' talent took shape in the classroom.
It started as math lesson in 20-16..
A way to teach his first grade students at letcher elementary school about line symmetric shapes.
That's when tyler watts' artistic talents began to take shape too.

He says that's when the idea to make it an artform came to him.
Since then.... watts large-scale displays have gone up around the state at businesses... schools...even at the capitol.
His talents have been on display at the harry m.
Caudill memorial library in whitesburg for the last six years.... where he has created fourth of july, halloween and christmas displays.
One of watts' favorite childhood memories is the inspiration behind this year's christmas display featuring the muppets.

We still to this day laugh so hard at it.

And, like many of the displays he has done, his students were also involved in creating this one.

They help me rule things out on the design a whole lot, they don't care one bit to do that, but i have the kindest students in the world, they're sweethearts.

In case you'e wondering... watts doesn't have to pay for all the post-it notes he uses for his displays.
The 3-m plant in cynthiana, which makes post-it notes, sponsors watts and sends him what he needs for his projects.
Watts says he uses the "supersticky" post-it notes so the display stays up.
And when it's time for the display to come down... he uses a leaf blower to remove the post-it notes.
