Michelle miles is service manager of the salvation army in corinth.

She said angels for this year's angel tree went out the day after thanksgiving.

For anyone who doesn't know, when someone takes an angel from the tree, that's called adopting the angel.

The person is supposed to buy the item written on the angel and bring it back for a child for christmas.

"coats, shoes, those are such important things for our little angel tree babies."

After meeting clothing needs miles said she's asking people to consider including one or two toys.

That way the kids get more than just their base needs met.

"...and then still be able to have a couple of toys under the tree to open on christmas morning."

(nat sound of ladies moving garbage bags) they still have ten angels on the tree waiting for adoption.

Standup: (looking under a christmas tree with no gifts.) the salvation army wants to make sure no kid sees this on christmas morning.

If anyone wants to adopt an angel from the tree, miles said they don't even have to come in; they can call and adopt over the phone.

"our deadline has got to be this friday at noon so that we can get those children processed out and be ready to give their presents out next week, the week of christmas."
