One of those areas of growth would be in indiana's broadband connectivity.

That's something farmers across the state are also making a priority in the upcoming session.

"making sure indiana remains a state of opportunity to live, work play, study and stay for all."-holcomb governor eric holcomb has big goals for his next four years in office.

His plan is focused on five pillars.

The economy..

Education and workforce development, public health..

Delivering great government service and infrastructure.

"we are going to take our nation leading broadband internet program to the next level."-holcomb.

That issue is something that affects people in our part of the state more then in other areas.

"do people in rural communities do farmers have access to internet?

You could yes but how reliable is that internet?"-tyler wilson tyler wilson is a board member of the montogomery county farm bureau.

The grassroots organization has made expanding broadband for farmers and rural communities in indiana their number one priority for the upcoming legislative session.

Especially as technology for farmers continues to advance.

"it's changing all the time and you have to have the infrastructure to allow you to use the tools you have.

We have the developed tools but there is a piece of that that's missing in order to use the tool to it's highest ability."-tyler so far the holcomb administration has invested nearly 80 million dollars to expand broadband across the state.

Which they say has helped 21-thousand locations.

But now they say the threshhold for internet speed will be raised in underserved communities.

"we will be looking to raise the minnimum speed to at least the federal standard."- lt.

Governor suzanne crouch the official fcc broadband minnimum standard is 25 megabits per second download and 3 megabits per seconduploadg people like tyler wilson hope the governor will acomplish.

"the rural community has needed this for a long time and it's not just the farm you drive by on a county road but also small towns."- tyler the governor said that his number one priority will be to continue the fight against covid-19 until more hoosiers are vaccinated.
