Unknown suspect shoots into Salvation Army store

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- An unknown suspect shot into the Salvation Army store on Mercer overnight Thursday, early Friday.

The car... ran off the road and into some bushes.

The victim is expected to be okay.

A bullet shattered a window overnight ... at the salvation army distribution center on mercer university drive.

Volunteers and employees noticed the 12 foot wall was shattered when they arrived this morning.

They found a bullet and casing in the parking lot.

But they say everything in the building was accounted for.

The director of development for the salvation army says... their main concern was ... making sure all 11-hundred children and seniors ... got their angel tree toys and gifts today.

"it's one of those things where you're worried, you're concerned, just like with everything else with 2020, but there is a job to do and we have to make sure we complete it."

The broken window is now boarded up.
