In our other big story tonight....well over a hundred people gathered in downtown eugene today for a rally-- claiming gyms are essential for overall health and should be allowed to reopen.
Kezi nine news reporter connor mccarthy joins us live from the wayne morse free speech plaza to explain their argument.
Matt-- earlier today-- the plaza behind me was filled with people holding signs--demanding the governor open gyms back up.
They claim working out is not only good for your physical health--- but mental health as well.
They say having an outlet to exercise your mental health---is even more important now more than ever during a pandemic.
The open gym rally had about 120 people show-- including, gym patrons, gym owners, and one lane county comissioner.
They all argue that there has been little transmissions at gyms and they see it unfair that you can get a haircut but can't workout.
The c-e-o of element health clubs says the governor should be using all tools avaible to keep oregonians healthy--including giving people a space to exercise.

However, some of those studies have not been peer reiviewed-- like a recent study published by a group of students at u-o.
Matt-- it's also important to not that the cdc has singled out gyms as places where the risk of transimission is high.
They say air circulation and close proximity in gyms could increase the risk of spread.
