As coronavirus cases rise here in north alabama -- so do calls to emergency medical services.

Dan -- huntsville emergency medical services have seen an increase in calls.
Last week alone they responded to almost 200 calls a day -- and were transporting around one hundred fifty people.
It's been even busier this week.
With ems workers responding to around two hundred twenty calls a day.
And a third of those calls are coronairus related.
"it's just been a very busy time and right now about 30% of the calls we're going on are presenting as they are we either know they're covid patients or they have covid-like symptoms. so there's no doubt in our minds that we're seeing a lot of this disease in our community" now about eighteen hemsi employees are out with coronavirus -- that's about seven percent of their workforce.
Five or six of those employees should be able to return to work next week, live outside huntsville hospital, bridget divers, waay-31 news.
