But here we are with the state championship games in atlanta.
For our area, the warner robins demons were going for their first state title since 2004.
This was the fourth straight season the demons had played for the 5-a state championship.
They lost big to rome in 2017, then had a three-overtime loss to bainbridge in 2018 followed by a three-point loss to buford last year.
This time, the cartersville purple hurricanes provided the competition.
This program won state titles in 2015 and 2016 in quad-a.
