MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Middle Georgia Regional Libraries are participating in the Winter Reading Challenge.

The healthcare workers you the middle georgia regional library is participating in the annual winter reading challenge.

The regional library is encouraging the public to read at least ten hours for the month of janauary.

The event will be held virtually this year, and each time you read a book you can ,log your hours in on the app.

Anyone, no matter their age, is able to participate in the challenge beginning january first.

The libary says it wants to be able to include everyone into this event.

We wanted to participate primarily because what the books like us program stands for, what it is is that it's supposed to promote diversity, so it's about getting families, because the c1 3 b13 challeneg is open for all ages so we're getting people to see characters that look like them.

This is the first year simon and schuster's books like us will sponsor the challenge.
